Tutorial : VirtualBox on openSUSE 11.1 Part 2

We have installed VirtualBox as describe on Tutorial : VirtualBox on openSUSE 11.1 Part 1. Now, we will continue the process by using VirtualBox and testing guest operating system. I’m using openSUSE 11.1 as guest OS. You may used another operating system instead of openSUSE.

  1. Open VirtualBox from kick off menu or by run VirtualBox (case sensitive) within konsole.

  2. Choose Create menu

  3. Typing your guest operating system

  4. Specify memory for guest OS
    VirtualBox Menu
  5. Choose Virtual Disk. Click New button for create new virtual disk.

  6. Click Next to start creating virtual disk

  7. Choose the harddisk type, dynamic size or permanent. If you choose dynamic, VirtualBox will be resize dynamically according to your image size

  8. Make a proper name for virtual disk

  9. Finish

  10. Next for continue the wizard

  12. We have an existing virtual machine. We should continue our work by installing Guest OS. In this scenario, I’m using ISO image mounted as CD ROM. Let’s mount the CD ROM. Click on CD ROM.

  13. Choose Mount CD/DVD Drive ISO Image File. If you wish to install from physical CD ROM, used Host CD/DVD Drive instead and goto step 15

  14. Click lookup button (yellow button) and choose Add on mount dialog

  15. Choose your ISO File

  16. Click Start and follow the installation wizard
