Installing LXDE, LightWeight X11 Desktop Environment on openSUSE 11.1

If you wish to used faster openSUSE 11.1 but don’t want trade-off the speed with the beautiful of your favorit desktop environment, you may need to give LXDE a try.

I mainly used KDE 4 as my default desktop environment but occasionally using Gnome, Xfce, Icewm and some others desktop environment, so I don’t need any complicated desktop for new experience. It must be faster than another and give a good navigation to daily task. Both requirement has been accepted by using LXDE.

Installing LXDE on openSUSE 11.1 was quite easy. Thanks to swyear for making a package for openSUSE 11.1. Just go to  http://software.opensuse.org/search, typing  lxde at the search box, adjust the openSUSE version and then click on the one-click-install image.
